Happy Easter ... again

As you may remember, some weeks ago I posted this entry in which I challenged students to download Vine app and create short looping videos wishing all a Happy Easter. Many of the students did try it, but, as expected, it wasn't compatible with some of their mobile phones. For the most daring ones though that was no obstacle at all as they used other features of their mobile phones to create their films: Sofia was the first to do it and shared with us a short youtube video, and now Joana and Gonçalo have asked me to do that for them. Sooooooooooooooo, here they are :)

The holidays are coming to an end but we have Easter to celebrate and it's celebrated in several countries. 
So here's Happy Easter.

Easter Contest!

Easter is approaching and it’s my turn now to wish you all a very Happy Easter. However, as I decided to try out a new mobile app which is also one of the fastest growing social networks, Vine, I’d like to challenge you to do the same!
First of all, here is my first Vine (ever!): 

So, what I’d like you to do is to create a short, simple, 6 second looping video for all to see wishing Happy Easter!!! What you have to do is download the app, available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone (but do check if your version is compatible as not all devices are able to record), set up a profile and then create your Vine! Who doesn’t know The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins?

What, you haven’t read the books??? Can’t believe you! It’s a mind blowing trilogy, full of action and twists; once you start, you’ll only stop when you finish the first book, and then, well, you’ll want to read the sequel! That’s how good the books are.

Joana started by watching the first two movies as soon as they came out, and because she loved the story so much, she couldn’t wait for the third movie and has just finished reading the third book “Mockingjay” - that's what she is sharing with us today ;)

As you will notice, she not only read the book, but also created the video which is a feat and therefore an example for all – she read and produced everything, isn’t she amazing??? Have a look below:

She read it in Portuguese, but what really matters is READING! Read it in its original version – English – or in your native language, but READ!

CR7 CISSÉ

Today, we made our last league game against a very strong team, Academic sf. We were losing 2-0 in the first part, but in the second part, we won 3-2. With this victory, we are third in our group, and ended up with 29 goals ... at the end of the game we celebrated, ate meat and chips, drank juice, and took a lot of pictures .......... and were congratulated by everyone ... thanks!

Spelling Contest 2014

Here are the two Shining A students who took part in the school's spelling contest 2014: Verónica and Gonçalo. The first two pics were taken while they were deeply concentrated on their exercises; in the other one with both, they are showing off their participation certificate. Proud, proud, proud - what about you?
