#BringBackOurGirls

Over a month has already gone by and noone knows what has happened to almost 300 schoolgirls kidnapped in Nigeria by terrorist organisation Boko Haram.
Can you imagine this??? Being at school and being abducted because you are a girl and you are learning? How sad for them and how lucky you are - have you ever thought about it? Education is a Human Right!
I'm sure you have already heard this piece of news once it has been on TV for so long because, after all this time, the girls still haven't been returned to their desperate families. There is an international campaign going on for the girls' release and you can also get involved using Twitter and the Hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.
Let's join the movement and demand the girls' release. Become caring citizens and get involved, commit yourselves for the sake of those Nigerian girls. The clock is ticking: the more time goes on, the riskier it is for the young helpless girls.
Have a look now at this video shared by UNICEF yesterday.

And now, our class as committed as ever!

Playful activities

Source:

Time goes by quickly and the end of the school year will be there in the twinkling of an eye. Very soon there are tests, assessment, scoring... To take advantage of your little time, you should organise your study plan for all subjects and, in what concerns English, you can very well enjoy playful activities.
Below are some links for you to revise our current topic: Our Blue Planet (Environmental Issues). This is definitely a very popular topic in the news and obviously in school books, and why??? Because the world  - and consequently all living creatures - are suffering from (and with) environmental problems. High time not only to learn the vocab, yes, but also to take action, folks.
Aren't these two points convincing enough for you to care and learn? Well, without further ado, roll up your sleeves and go ahead!!

Afterwards, your comments will be printed out and corrected to be handed out back to you.

Due Prizes

As promised here, prizes have been awarded - prizes, plural form, yes, because only two students had compatible mobile phones and because both Vines were so funny and great, João and Diogo got exactly the same: school stuff, as you can see below, including rulers with an irregular verb list, pens, bookmarks, booklets...
Congratulations, boys, and keep on. You have been doing an amazing work in our class blog.
Hope you enjoy, boys!

Happy Easter ... again

As you may remember, some weeks ago I posted this entry in which I challenged students to download Vine app and create short looping videos wishing all a Happy Easter. Many of the students did try it, but, as expected, it wasn't compatible with some of their mobile phones. For the most daring ones though that was no obstacle at all as they used other features of their mobile phones to create their films: Sofia was the first to do it and shared with us a short youtube video, and now Joana and Gonçalo have asked me to do that for them. Sooooooooooooooo, here they are :)

Hope you like them! Please leave your precious comments :)

Diogo's Vine

Happy Easter

Hello, hope you like my video with my young sister ...
Enjoy life. Enjoy your holidays. Happy Easter :)

Happy Easter

The holidays are coming to an end but we have Easter to celebrate and it's celebrated in several countries.
So here's Happy Easter.

Easter Contest!

Easter is approaching and it’s my turn now to wish you all a very Happy Easter. However, as I decided to try out a new mobile app which is also one of the fastest growing social networks, Vine, I’d like to challenge you to do the same!
First of all, here is my first Vine (ever!):
So, what I’d like you to do is to create a short, simple, 6 second looping video for all to see wishing Happy Easter!!! What you have to do is download the app, available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone (but do check if your version is compatible as not all devices are able to record), set up a profile and then create your Vine! Easy and fast – after all, you only have 6 secs! Be funny! Be creative! Embed and share your vines here. If you do it, the best will win a prize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For some crazy and funny ideas by the top viner, check https://vine.co/griernash. Ah... don't forget to click on the top left icon for sound :)
Many Vines and Happy Easter, y'all!
