When I'm at home, I like playing computer games and football; I also do my homework and other things. I like going to school; I think school is funny.

Hi! My name is Joana and I´m 13 years old. I'm Portuguese and I live in Vila Nova de Anços, but I'm from Alfarelos. I have two older brothers, whom I like to spend time with.

I have a cat, Ned, and a dog, Termin. I really like to play with them, especially with Ned, but don´t tell Termin or he will be sad!

I like to read - my favourite author is Amanda Hocking -, and to watch television, being "The Walking Dead" my favourite series.

I don´t really like sports, but I love to swim. I also like to spend time with my friends, chatting and laughing, of course!

Why Do Leaves Change Colour?

It’s the first day of autumn and the telltale signs are here: unstable weather, rain and wind,  and most importantly, the leaves are changing colors. Ever wonder why some leaves turn red, others yellow and some just turn brown? It's all down to chlorophyll (more like bore-ophyll!) and the glucose stored inside trees that help reveal the reds, yellows and, less excitingly, browns of fall foliage.

Berlengas

I've been to Berlengas for the first time! It's a very beautiful place but the trip was very eventful. The sea was rough and and there were strong winds, which made ​​it difficult to travel. When we arrived, we were surprised by the natural beauty of the island. We loved the island and are planning to go there again.

Let's Celebrate Excellency!

In a previous blogpost, I mentioned João Carecho for his excellent school grades that have granted him a place at the school's honour board. But it's not only João who deserves honours. Indeed, for different - but equally exemplary reasons - Sofia and Vitória are also going to be awarded at the cerimony next Monday for their dedication, commitment and outstanding sports results in climbing tournments.
How proud we all are, João, Sofia and Vitória!!! Let's celebrate excellency together and work harder and harder this school year, agree?
