StickStuckStuck

I know you just loveeeeee the repetition of irregular verbs in class :=)
Well, here is something especially for you. Until Monday 23:59, and for 10 points...
- What do you think of this hip hop irregular verb song?  Does it "stick"?
- How do you learn better? With music? Videos? ...?
- What do you understand by "Relax. Repeat. Remember."?
- Add 5 more irregular verbs you've already come across this school year ;)

Now, enjoy it - until the very end!

  1. Hi,
I really liked that song on irregular verbs. I think that "stick" means that it is not necessary to learn by force irregular verbs.
I need the songs and videos to help better learn irregular verbs.
I understand that "Relax and Repeat Remember" means that calmly and slowly is learned.

  2. I don't really like the song and it didn't "stick"...
I think that the best way to learn irregular verbs is to write them and read them a few times.
"Relax. Repeat. Remember" means that we need to do things slow, repeat the verbs and that helps us remember them.

To set - set - set
To fall - fell - fallen

    1. It just shows we are all different, right? Human intelligence is pluralistic and we learn differently. Diogo seems to be a more musical learner, while you are probably more linguistic and visual. I am extremely visual, by the way, as well as verbal / linguistic.
Anyway, as a teacher I try to create different opportunities thus trying to address your minds in multiple ways ;)
P.S.: TO HAVE (can be "has" in the 3rd person singular Present Simple), HAD (only possibility!), HAD

  3. Hi I didn´t really like and no it didn´t "stick"
I think that the best way to learn irregular verbs is to listen to other people saying them in a conversation....
Relax means to take things slowwwwwwwwww (really slow) Repeat - means to repeat the verbs that it didn´t "stick" that easily and finally Remember - means to remember the verbs...

    Buy (bought, bought)
    Eat (ate, eaten)
    To have - had/has - had
To fall - fell - fallen ( really like this one)
    Wake (woke, woken)

    1. Relax, as you do in class, and repeat, as we also do in class, so that you can remember later on; in a common conversation one never hears or repeats the irregular verb forms, Gonçalo!
Please check my last entry for Joana's comment, will you? Thanks!

  4. I don't really like the song and it didn't "stick".I think the best way to learn irregular verbs is the most difficult to write and then read them. " Relax . Repeat. Remember .", means we have to have concentration and re- read them to help remember them .

    1. It's obvious this is not a common, viral, catchy song in the sense that it is not going to be sung / heard outside of the classroom once it was produced - specifically - for learners of English as a foreign language, like yourselves.
As far as I get it from your comments, you're still tied to traditional teaching / learning habits, therefore, if writing and repetition "stick", then go ahead. No excuses, right?

  5. How do not really like music, this is not the easiest way for me to learn irregular verbs. "Relax and repeat" to me means, take it easy and never stop learning, with effort, will get easier.

    throw (threw, thrown)
    hide( hid,hidden)
    forbid (forgave,forgiven)

    1. As / Because I do not really like music... well, you don't like music but to learn, is that correct? I can't study / learn with music therefore, I do understand the way you feel ;)
You are right though in what concerns learning and effort: life-long learners never cease learning and sooner or later, with effort and commitment, we will achieve our goals.
Just one last thing: To forbid, forbade, forbidden // To forgive, forgave, forgiven :=)
