International Women's Day 2015

Today's Google Doodle celebrating female achievement across the globe

Sunday 8 March 2015 marks International Women’s Day, an annual event that celebrates women’s accomplishments and promotes global gender equality.
This year’s theme is ‘make it happen’ and aims to encourage effective action for advancing and recognising women. It focuses on women in different professional sectors; the arts, female-owned businesses, in senior leadership roles, and all aspects of working environments where gender parity has still not been achieved.
Happy Day, Happy International Women's (Girls') Day if that's the case :=)

  1. Nowadays, I can see and hear often on the evening news and social networks that women are discriminated against in the world. The main reasons for the denial of equal rights for women, are of religious, cultural and tradition . In most developed countries (Europe and USA) and after a historical struggles, the woman made great advances and currently holds political office, public and are leaders in many private companies.
However, women continue to be the victim of domestic violence, sexual abuse and to receive lower incomes to man, even in the most developed countries culturally.
I think there is much to do for society, especially by our governments and put an end to this injustice for all women.
A great day for all women and never give up fighting for their rights.

    1. In the 21st Century there is stil dicrimination against women which is so sad, otherwise there should be no reason for this day! Womenstill face abuse, domestic violence, genital mutilation, and are still discriminated when fighting for education which is a basic human right, when pregnant and when applying for top jobs or even equal pay! Hopefully things will keep on changing for the sake of equal rights in a fair society.
      Happy Women's Day.
