Movie Review: Howl's Moving Castle

Resultado de imagem para o castelo andante
This is my favourite animation movie. This film is about a girl, Sophie, who falls in love with Howl.
Howl is a very powerful and mysterious wizard who lives in a bewitched castle.

The Witch of Waste is chasing Howl and when she sees him with Sophie, she attacks her, transforming her into an old woman.

Sophie travels to the Wastes and encounters a living scarecrow whom she names "Turnip Head," who leads her to Howl's castle. Sophie's country is in war with a neighbour country. The King summons Howl (Pendragon and Jenkins) to fight in the war. Sophie learns that Howl has transformed into a bird, like creature in order to interfere in the war, but each transformation makes it more difficult for him to return to human. She fears that Howl is preparing to leave them.

The soundtrack CD was first released on 19 November 2004 by Tokuma.
I don't recommend this film to anyone who doesn't like cartoons or animes.

I just like the film because it was part of my childhood.

Movie Review: The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

I like to watch movies, but my preference goes to movies with lots of action and suspense till the end.
However, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, was one of those films which by its emotional and dramatic charge I have never forgotten.
I think all of you have seen this film released in 2009 by Mark Herman and whose main characters are Asa Butterfield (Bruno), Jack Scanlon (Shmuel), Vera Farmiga (Mother), David Thewlis (Father); its soundtrack was James Horner's.
I will not tell you the whole story of the movie that happened during the Holocaust period, at a Nazi concentration camp in Germany. I just want to remember the empathy created between those two innocent children, who lived in different realities. Bruno, nine years old, the son of a German military officer and Shmuel is the same age, but is a Jew and is in a Nazi concentration camp, where there are many Jewish people persecuted by Nazi Germany, all sentenced to death.
Oblivious of the political issues, racism and cruelties that were happening in the world, these two children struck an unlikely friendship.
Because of this friendship between them, hiding the differences that existed, they became inseparable every passing day. At the end, Bruno entered the camp and accompanied Shmuel on an innocent walk to the gas chamber, where all died.
It was a tragic end and I did not expect it... I was disappointed and sad.
Unfortunately there were some other similar stories in a very dark period in the history of mankind - hopefully never again!!!

Movie Review: The Conjuring

The Conjuring's poster

My favourite film is The Conjuring, a supernatural horror film which came out in 2013.
The Conjuring is about a family who in 1971 moves to a new house where a few of paranormal events happen...Every night all clocks of the house stop at 3:07am. In the first night, weird things happen to all daughters. Carolyn, the mum, hears something on the hallway, and all the pictures in the hall had fallen down. Carolyn decides to contact paranormal investigators, Ed and Loraine Warren.
The main actors are: Patrick Wilson (Ed), Vera Farminga (Loraine Warren), Lili Taylor (mother), Ron Livingston (father), and the five daughters: Shanley Caswel (Andrea), Hayley McFarland (Nancy), Joey King (Christine), Sterling Jerins (Judy) ans Mackenzie Foy (Cindy) .
It's a great film, the music (by Josehp Bishara) is just perfect and for me the most interesting is that the film is based on real facts, which makes the film even spookier.
You must watch it if you like supernatural horror films, but you mustn't watch it alone!

Movie Review: Deadpool

My favourite film is Deadpool.
It is an action film. The film tells the story of an anti-hero, Wade Wilson, who had cancer. Because he little chance of survival, he accepted undergoing an experimental treatment and as a consequence, his skin got scarred buut never lost his huge sense of humor. His goals become then to reverse the situation and then seek revenge on the man who destroyed his life.
The cast is excellent: Ryan Reynolds (the main character), Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein, T.J Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Stan Lee and Taylor Hickson.
The plot is thrilling and has an unexpected twist.
In the beginning, people expect it to be an action film, but then it is about the story of his life.
The special effects are amazing. For example bullets coming out of the gun, a glass of a capsule that never breaks, among others.
The costumes are magnificent except the Negasonic’s one. It’s totally black and she only wears a yellow belt. It looks like she is a villain and not a good character.

I would definitely recommend watching it because it has an unexpected ending and lots of action.

Movie Review: Thor

Hello,

I decided to write a review on Thor. This movie is based on the Marvel character with same name.
Thor is about the story of Thor, a god who is expelled from his home and sent to Earth to restart an old war. Thanks to life with mortals, he must learn to be a true hero to fight evil forces that threaten the Earth.
I think this film is really good, especially the plot.
The main characters are Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Anthony Hopkins as Odin. A quality cast I would say!

I think you should watch it if you like action films.
